2022-02-22: N.R.F.'s 144th Birthday
Dear N.R.F. members
In years past, it was an annual tradition to celebrate Nordiska's birthday on 22 February. This year we will revive the tradition! To commemorate Nordiska's 144th birthday, we will host an apéro at the boathouse. Afterward, those interested are welcome to stay for a talk on the history of N.R.F.'s boathouses.
What: N.R.F.'s 144th birthday apéro & history presentation
When: Tuesday 22 February 2022, 18:00-22:00
Where: N.R.F. boathouse, Mythenquai 79
Admission: 10 CHF for members, 15 CHF for non-members
Dress code: N.R.F.-style. Wear a piece of N.R.F. clothing or something festive!
We will meet at 18:00 for an apéro with champagne & snacks. It's okay to show up a bit later. If you want something special to eat or drink, feel free to bring it.
The apéro will be followed around 20:00 by the very first N.R.F. History Night, where the topic will be The History of N.R.F.'s Boathouses. As many of you know, I have spent the past couple of years doing research into Nordiska's history. One of my primary areas of investigation has been N.R.F.'s boathouses. We all know about the current boathouse, but there has until recently been very little general knowledge of the club's previous boathouses. I presented a short overview at the Generalförsamling in November, and in my talk on 22 February, I will provide a lot more detail, including a discussion of the process of discovery. At the end of the presentation, there will be an opportunity to view some of the primary source documents from the N.R.F. Archives and ask questions.
Attendees will be required to show a valid COVID certificate.
