2022-04-23 19:00: Party: First day of Summer
In Iceland, we celebrate the first day of the summer, "Sumardagurinn Fyrsti" in Icelandic, on the first Thursday after the 18th of April.
That may seem odd, considering Iceland's cold climate... but according to the old Norse calendar, which was used by Iceland's settlers, the year only had two seasons: Winter and Summer!
We will, of course, celebrate this day at Nordiska with a Norse mythology / Viking-themed party!
So drag out that Thor/Freyja costume that's been waiting for this exact opportunity in your closet for years and celebrate with us like there is no tomorrow!!
